Combination skin has different needs depending on the areas of the face: the T-zone may be shinier while the cheeks remain normal or drier. The goal is not to treat the entire face in the same way, but to adapt textures and active ingredients when necessary.
How can you recognize combination skin?
Typical signs include shine on the forehead, nose or chin, combined with cheeks that feel more comfortable, normal or sometimes tight. Needs may change depending on the seasons and skincare habits.
Morning routine for combination skin

Gentle cleansing. An facial cleanser is generally enough to remove impurities without drying out the driest areas.

Optional toner. Toners can be used if their formula is suitable for the entire face.

Targeted serum. A hydrating facial serum may suit the entire face; a more targeted active ingredient can be reserved for certain areas if necessary.

Moisturizer. Use a lightweight face cream over the entire face, or apply a richer texture only to the cheeks if they feel tight.

Sun protection. Finish your morning routine with protection suited to your exposure.
Should you use several products for different areas?
Not necessarily. A simple routine often works very well. A targeted approach becomes especially useful when a product that feels comfortable on the T-zone does not provide enough comfort for the cheeks, or vice versa. Start with a common base before adding extra products.
Masks and exfoliation
“Multi-masking” can be an occasional option: for example, using different treatments for different areas. However, it is not essential. With a peel or exfoliant, follow the product's recommendations and avoid over-exfoliating drier areas.
Evening routine
