Autumn facial routine: steps to maintain comfort and radiance

Automne : la routine visage idéale pour retrouver une peau éclatante avant l'hiver

Autumn brings changes in temperature, humidity, and lifestyle. Some skin becomes drier or more uncomfortable, while other skin remains relatively stable. There is no need to change your entire routine: focus mainly on adapting the texture and active ingredients to your skin’s responses.

Why adjust your routine in autumn?

Cold weather outdoors, drier air, and indoor heating can contribute to a feeling of tightness for some people. After summer, skin may also appear less radiant. A well-designed autumn routine therefore focuses primarily on gentle cleansing, hydration, and protection.

Step 1: Remove makeup and cleanse without adding unnecessary steps

In the evening, start with a makeup remover if you wear makeup or water-resistant sunscreen, then use a suitable facial cleanser. If your skin feels tight after washing, reconsider the frequency, water temperature, or formula you use.

Step 2: Target one concern with a serum

Hydration, radiance, texture, or blemishes: choose your facial serum based on one main priority. Introducing several powerful active ingredients at the same time makes it more difficult to assess tolerance.

Step 3: Adjust your moisturizer

In autumn, some people prefer a more comforting texture than in summer. This does not mean that a rich cream is suitable for everyone: choose according to your skin type, how your skin feels after application, and the other products you use.

Step 4: Continue using suitable sun protection

UV rays do not disappear when temperatures drop. Sun protection suited to your exposure, phototype, and routine remains relevant year-round, particularly if you use exfoliating or sensitizing active ingredients, in accordance with the product’s recommendations.

What about masks and exfoliants?

They remain occasional steps. If your skin tolerates exfoliation well, follow the frequency indicated on the product and avoid layering several exfoliants. You can explore our Masks & Scrubs and our Peeling collection.

Example of an autumn routine

Morning

  1. Light cleansing if necessary.
  2. Targeted serum.
  3. Moisturizer.
  4. Sun protection.

Evening

  1. Makeup removal if necessary.
  2. Cleansing.
  3. Targeted serum.
  4. Moisturizer.

When should you simplify your routine even further?

If your skin becomes red, burns, itches, or reacts to several products, stop using new active ingredients and return to a short routine. If symptoms persist or are severe, seek advice from a healthcare professional.
